Netsweeper Supporting Safer Internet Day 2010

Guelph, ON, February 9, 2010 - Today, Netsweeper is recognizing, Safer Internet Day, an internationally recognized event that was created to promote Internet safety and awareness for children, parents and teachers.

"Safer Internet Day is significant to Netsweeper. It has always been our mission as a global provider of Internet content filtering solutions to develop and create tools that are designed to protect children from the dangers lurking on the Internet. These threats include online sexual predator solicitation through social networking and chat sites, cyberbullying and inappropriate web content like pornography, gambling, profanity and substance abuse sites just to name a few,' said Perry Roach, CEO of Netsweeper. "Further, in this day and age where mobile Internet access is becoming more prevalent through the use of laptops and cell phones, Netsweeper believes that we, as parents and guardians, must make it a priority to educate everyone on the risks our children take each and every day when online whether from a desktop at home or a mobile device anywhere."

For over a decade, Netsweeper has devoted itself to developing software solutions that enable IT managers or parents to manage and control Internet access and activity on computers under their respective watch. Today, Netsweeper offers easy to deploy, easy to use solutions that are implemented by educational institutions, government organizations, service providers, businesses and OEM partners around the world both in the network and on individual workstations running Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems.

"Netsweeper is expert in Internet content filtering solutions. One-hundred percent of our time and resources is dedicated to making the Internet safe and productive for those using one of 44 million workstations that Netsweeper is currently monitoring in one fashion or another," commented Andrew Graydon, COO of Netsweeper. "Through regular development innovations and strategic technology partnerships, Netsweeper is positioned well to address the growing needs of this global Internet safety concern. Recent announcements of our Mac OS X client filter, miniSweeper appliance and enhanced web threat identification engines are just a few of the innovations that will protect our society, and especially our children, in the years to come."
